Unfortunately the email attachments offer Save only. However, I can save them as a temporary file then open them, but this is not ideal. I have also noticed that images are no longer showing up in emails. The attachments are mainly excel, word. Also no images show for any emails even though I have checked Mail Options and they used to a few weeks ago. I have tried dragging the attachment box which as Save marked underneath it to the Notepad on the left of the page but it does not allow me to do this.
I have not used Notepad before. You would need to drag a link to it, not a box. Try doing it from the Downloads directory to see how it works? BTW if no images are showing in an E-mail that could suggest that you are viewing E-mail as plain text. Do you have such an option with your E-mail client? Hotmail used to have such a feature but Outlook.
I have looked in "Downloads" via windows explorer but have not worked out how to transfer a file to Notepad, as the Notepad is on the email programme BT Yahoo. The images are still not showing but I have searched but cant see any mention of an option to view the email in "plain text". The technician said my IE must be corrupt and to use Google Chrome instead. Notepad is a standard Desktop Accessory. It has been in Windows forever but now that there is no Start Menu it may not be so apparent that it is still there.
