I was very pleased with Bitdefender, too, but I found the Mcafee in action and bought the overpayment cheaply for a long period.

I think full scanning slows down the computer's operation, and that's a negative rating. Over time, I've gotten used to his work like that and I don't mind slowing down the system while a full scan is done.

Antivirus has a lot of useful functions. It is very reviewed and easy to use. Also, I don't like the lack of webcam protection.

I think it's a serious omission, so I appeal that this function be activated into antivirus in the future. My final grade is 9. If he had webcam protection, the rating would be 9. I recommend Mcaf Show More ee antivirus. I'm satisfied with the functions it has and they're very effective.

Beverley Husson. It's an ok program, my complaint is with the staff. Plus they keep telling me the 30 day free trial is over!!!

This is the last time I will be ripped off by McAfee as I will never use them again as an antivirus protection program. I have also paid for another protection as I have no idea IF I am really protected or not If only someone would have gotten back to me to discuss this error on their part it would have been nice.

Beware consumers of also getting ripp Show More ed off if you don't deactivate your auto renewal many weeks in advance, as no one will get back to you to speak about this issue!! McAfee staff suck!!! Quite frustrated with McAfee. I have a McAfee on my laptop. I have their 2-year-plan for devices. My laptop is hacked recently. The hacker successfully penetrated McAfee's internet security.

The hacker is remotely controlling my laptop every time I connect to the internet. McAfee's security protection is not as good enough to stop sophisticated hackers as these. I have almost a year left, but I am stopping my subscription and will ask for a refund. Pop-ups driving me mad. Would not recommend. The ammount of scary pop ups will absolutely discourage you from using it.

Just try to disable autorenew for even more scary experience. The firewall will ask you from time to time for internet access for apps that already trusted??!! Is it because something changed in the app? No one will know. I should have listened to McAfee himself, uninstall it.

Stefanie Lange. I get nothing but the run around. I want my dam money back. Nothing but thieves. I use Total Protection for the family and I can honestly say it has gotton much better recently no Intel. Small issue is it does try to switch search engines in Chrome Just go into settings and reset it to Google No biggy.

Eddie Crow Sr. Be very very cautious of this company the security software is fairly food but the company practice's leave a lot to be desired. Mcafee uses the autopay option for you to get half of what you pay for and a month before your subscription runs out and before you can remove autopay they renew your subscription. Bob Cunningham Eddie Crow Sr. This is so true. Avast : how do they compare? McAfee is a good antivirus and worth the investment.

It offers an extensive security suite that will keep your computer safe from malware and other online threats. This is the only real difference between the two plans. Although both offer excellent antivirus protection, Norton offers better speeds, security and overall performance. For more information, read our McAfee vs. Norton comparison. After purchase, within 30 days, you can receive a full refund for your subscription.

Don't waste your time or money, it doesn't work, McAfee doesn't do anything except take your money and sell your info to other online scammers.

Just do web search for McAfee antitrust lawsuits and see for yourself. Their software doesn't do anything at all, then you you try to find your account on their website, and there's not even any place to log in to check your account. I stumbled in here in trying to find an attorney to handle the fraud case.

I have used McAfee for probably 25 years now and have found it an excellent program with many improvements over the years. I run it on 2 PC's, 2 laptops and 2 android phones. Never had an issue so a happy customer. McAfee LiveSafe came pre-installed on my laptop, and the first time I ran a threat scan it told me that it had removed 3 threats from my computer.

It didn't tell me what files they were in, nor what the threat was, other than a cryptic code for the threat id - two of which were PUPxxxxx. Searching for the code to find out what the specific threat was gave no results. So I restored them from the quarantine, and carried on. But there is no way to whitelist files, and no warning or option to exclude files when McAfee thinks it's found a "threat". So I either have to run a scan manually, and then manually restore all the files that I actually want to keep, or just never run the scan in the first place.

Totally unacceptable behavior. Kimberly Meyer prefix 7 months ago. Why was 4. Tami Yingling prefix 9 months ago. Is the subscription for McAfee automatically renewed every year? Design A name like "Total Protection" should inspire confidence -- it's the main hook for a number of toothpaste manufacturers, not to mention condom companies.

McAfee's Total Protection suite essentially bundles all of the company's consumer PC offerings into one big box -- or one file download -- with options for either single or three PC install bundles. Like most Internet security suites, installation of McAfee Total Protection is a somewhat drawn-out process. We tested the boxed version of the product -- and by boxed, we're talking the typical large cardboard box with a paper-cased CD inside and not much else -- and on our test system it took around 30 minutes to get all of the aspects of Total Protection up and running.

One useful factor here is that Total Security performs a simple virus scan prior to installing any components at all. Naturally, that won't pick any new viruses since the disc was pressed although there's presumably scope for the download version to incorporate this , but it's good to know that your system is at least partially clean before you give any security suite access to the inner workings of your PC.
