Introduction 2. Packaging and Contents 3. Pros: Rock solid, quiet, great airflow, looks sexy, and it's modular. This is an update to a previous review Cons: People who write 3 "egg" reviews based on stiff cables and the fact that they don't like the way it looks.
It should be easy to tell before you buy whether or not the Nvidia color scheme will compliment your system. Stiff cables? Darn these manufacturers for putting out sturdy, quality products!
Maybe we should ask XFX to please cut corners and use thinner gauge wiring in the future. Heck, let's forget the sleeving while we're at it, too! Who needs the improved airflow anyway? Do you hear yourselves, people? Phenom II 3. Cons: Note that these are very minor negatives. The screws that come with it are not the wide-head, standardized ones. They have a narrower head that may not properly tighten the sheet metal of the case to the PSU.
There are two non-modular 12v motherboard cables with different connectors so one of them is just clutter. Search for reviews of this power supply on jonnyguru and hardwaresecrets if you want a very in-depth and complete review of this unit.
I would consider this among the best high-end power supplies currently available. Pros: I reviewed this power supply over a month ago when I first installed it and I'm totally thrilled with this XFX product. I like the looks of it, it's quite, stays cool, and it's very functional with the modular set up. The most recent professional review that I found on this power supply stated by the reviewer that the XFX was potentially the most impressive power supply that he'd ever tested.
I'm convinced that XFX it a home run with this one and if you want a quality PS to power your system and you are in the market for one in the W range, this unit may very well be the best PS built.
It certainly runs neck and neck with the Corsair. If you want quality and you are interested in protecting your other components this is a great option.
Overall Review: Directly below, in the last review, is a list of the other components in my case. I don't have time to play around taking shortcuts powering those components that I spent that much money purchasing and time installing. XFX W is certainly one of the best options out there for the job.
Pros: Had this for just over a month now, quiet and seems to be very stable. I'm not one of those nerds that breaks out a multimeter when I get a new PSU, and honestly I tend to not really care about monitoring voltages in my BIOS.
Simply put: I bought it, I installed it, made all the connections and What a disappointment. While it was running there were no signs of trouble of Any kind.
Overall Review: Major cudos to Newegg for replacing it even at 32 days! I will have to wait for the RMA to complete at which point I will update if this reviews allows me to do so.
Also the last item in the build is the coolermaster Plus cpu fan Pros: Rock solid, quiet, great airflow, looks sexy, and it's modular. This is an update to a previous review Cons: People who write 3 "egg" reviews based on stiff cables and the fact that they don't like the way it looks.
